#What2020SoundsLike is a project of miniature commissions with a quick turnaround time.

2020 has been a year with unprecedented emotional, mental, physical, and sociological effects. HOCKET has been trying to figure out how to make music together, make sense of what’s happening in the world right now, and provide an artistic and musical outlet for our community to express themselves.

#What2020SoundsLike is a project of miniature commissions with a quick turnaround time. There has been so much to process this year on a day-to-day basis so we wanted to create a platform for composers to voice their responses. We've asked 50 composers to write new works for us which we’ll record into performance videos over the next 4 months. These performances will be released on social media and then they will be re-recorded for an album at the end of the year.

#What2020SoundsLike has been generously supported by John Bierbusse.
